The Organiser

The Civil Affairs Institute has been involved in the subject of combined transport since 1996. From the formal side, it functions as a think-tank, an expert-educational institution independent of political parties and advocacy groups. Also, it has the status of a public benefit organization.

The aim of the information campaign “Trucks on Tracks” which has been conducted for two years now is to promote combined transport (especially in the case of freight transit) and, in the further perspective, to influence the country’s transport policy, to change the proportions between the subsidies for motor and rail transport (which now is 20:1) and to promote railways as the common good of all Poles.
